CrossFit Open 18.1….Done!

Your weekly CrossFit Open update is here:

Workout 18.1

As many rounds as possible (AMRAP) in 20 minutes:

8 Toes To Bar (T2B)

10 Dumbbell Hang Power Clean and Jerks (5 each arm)

14 Calories (cals) on the rower

Last Friday I tackled the first workout of the 2018 CrossFit Open…my score was 310 reps, which is 9 rounds completed plus 8 T2B, 10 HPC&J and 4 cals on the rower. Initially, I was happy with my score…”one and done” was my comment once I gained my breath after the grueling 20 minutes. But then, as it always seems to happen with The Open, I began to see my friends’ scores, questioned my initial strategy, and decided I needed to give it a second shot.

This evening I redid 18.1, changed my strategy, and pushed myself a little harder…338 reps. My goal going into the redo was to complete 10 full rounds and anything above 320 reps would be icing on the cake. Needless to say, I was happy I redid the workout.

Now we have a couple of days to rest and we do it all over again…

Here’s the first couple of rounds from Friday’s attempt.
