I’m a podcast junkie–when you work alone you lose the opportunity to trade ideas and talk shop with colleagues, but I’ve found that I’m able to replace that interaction with podcasts. While I would much prefer human interaction (don’t worry, I get plenty meeting with my clients), I get the opportunity to hear new ideas and learn from some of the brightest in the business!
It should come as no surprise, but the majority of the podcasts I subscribe to are investment and finance related. One of my favorites is Patrick O’Shaughnessy’s Invest Like the Best, and this week’s podcast is one of my all-time favorites. And get this, it wasn’t about investing or finance. Instead, it covered my second favorite topic–health/fitness/nutrition (I lump all of those together as one topic).
Patrick interviews Peter Attia about how we can live longer, more fulfilling lives. In their discussion, they cover the importance of eating, muscle mass, genetics, and a number of other areas that impact our overall quality of life. They even manage to incorporate a little bit from the investing world: the power of compounding. I will definitely be listening to this multiple times to make sure I don’t miss anything.
I’ve included the interview below, so you have no excuse not to listen to it, but I’d also recommend subscribing to Patrick’s podcast.
