I’ve been meaning to write this for about a week now, but I’ve been preoccupied, with good reason.
Halloween was an eventful day for my family. After taking Roman (Carlos from Disney’s The Descendants) and Leo (Steph Curry) around the neighborhood to trick-or-treat, I came home to find my wife having contractions about 6-7 minutes apart; they had started earlier in the afternoon, but since they were so far apart she didn’t tell me thinking they would go away. Well, they didn’t…
We took our time getting ready: we packed our bags, took showers, cooked dinner for the boys and waited for Nana to arrive to watch the boys with little urgency until late. This was the first time my wife went into labor at home (she was induced with Roman and went into labor at the hospital waiting to be induced with Leo), and we underestimated how quickly things would progress. Long story short, my wife was immediately checked into the hospital at 8:10 PM, and she delivered our third son at 8:27 PM…you read that right, 17 minutes later and we were holding a newborn.
I’m happy to report mom and baby are doing great, and not surprisingly, Roman and Leo are outstanding brothers and helpers.
So without further ado, allow me to introduce you to Silas Fitz Carlyle Castelli.
