Bigger Picture

Don’t Call It A Comeback

I’ve been here for years…

Literally, All About Your Benjamins is about to turn five (I thought it might already be there, but the oldest post is January 2nd, 2016–times flies when you’re having fun), which blows my mind.

Over the last couple of years, my writing on AAYB has been a bit sporadic…the Mixtape has been a constant but putting my thoughts down here, well not so much. It’s not without good reason. Over the last two years:

  • I’ve rebranded and begun to build a team at RLS Wealth to help individuals and families focus on pursuing their passions in life. Our focus is to be our client’s “financial champion in life’s pursuits”. A focused, energized, and larger team has RLS Wealth in growth mode. True to my nature, we’re creating content over on the RLS Website and on my colleague Thomas Kopelman’s blog The Long Game centered around aligning purpose and money.
  • I’ve helped co-found a private online community for a group of phenomenal financial advisors called The AGC™…it seriously has the greatest people!
  • I’ve begun working with other financial advisors to help them tell their stories, build their content strategies, and follow one of my passions to help other great financial advisors build their ideal practice.
  • And on top of all of this, saving the best for last, I haven’t missed a single basketball or soccer game, unless the boys had games at the same time and we had to divide and conquer–this is most important for me and what I’m most proud of.

I guess you could say I’ve been busy 😀–and I know you have been as well; we’re all looking for that magical 25th hour.

One thing I’ve learned and have worked to improve upon is being more disciplined with my calendar. In the early days, I could get away with writing here whenever I wanted–I didn’t need a routine or schedule. But, now with all that I am trying to accomplish and build a routine is going to be necessary. For the first time, I’ve purchased a calendar to plan out all of my content–the blogs and podcasts (videos will still be a spur of the moment thing).

In 2021, there will be one podcast a month–I haven’t settled on the date, but it will be the same each month. There will be a new blog post every other Thursday morning–randomly picked Thursday. And, The Mixtape will continue every Sunday morning.

I’m excited to bring consistency back to All About Your Benjamins.

This is where it all started nearly five years ago. I’ve grown as a husband, father, advisor, and person over the last couple of years–and I have a lot to share about personal finance, entrepreneurship, and pursuing our best lives!

Don’t call it a comeback…
