A Conversation With Pete The Planner on Cryptocurrency

When I first started to explore the world of cryptocurrency and Blockchain it was because I had an inkling clients would eventually have questions and I wanted to be able to at a minimum explain what it was and to direct them to credible resources to further their own education, should they be interested. I didn’t head down this rabbit hole with the intention of spending as much time as I have reading, listening and talking about Bitcoin, cryptocurrency, and Blockchain. However, the more I learned about the technology and the possibilities for the future, the more interested I became in it. Instead of wanting to learn for my clients, I wanted to cure my own curiosity.

Although I am spending a lot of free time continuing to learn about cryptocurrency and Blockchain, it is not a part of my practice with clients, and nor will it be. I’ll answer questions if they come up, but there will not be a crypto allocation in client portfolios any time soon and I won’t be advising them on investing in it–except to determine what might be an acceptable dollar amount to dabble with and not blow up their financial plan. Beyond that, I’ll be directing them to my blog to consume the same resources I’m sharing with you.

Below is a video of a conversation I recently had with Pete the Planner (@PeteThePlanner), a local celebrity and an overall great guy, about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. Since this podcast/video is also on a local radio show we were contained to three 10-minute segments…hardly enough to cover everything investors need to know. But, I think we did a good job introducing the subject and I’m looking forward to stopping in again in a few months to pick up the conversation and to see how his investment is doing. In the meantime, I’m going to be starting my own podcast and my first episode will be a continuation of the conversation I had with Pete. I’ll also continue to update my beginner’s guide blog post with more posts, podcasts, books, etc.

Hope you enjoy the conversation!
