It’s the last day of summer break for the boys, so we decided to squeeze in one last video for the summer; don’t worry, they’ll be back for more, but they may not be on as frequently during the school year.
Back to school is a great time to discuss goals for the upcoming year–Roman and Leo share theirs for school and bigger goals for the future, but goals aren’t just for students and going back to school. Setting goals is important for everyone, yet so few of us actually set them; I talk about goals with clients every day–I can’t develop a plan without knowing what we’re trying to accomplish. But, outside of our planning meetings, I’m not sure how many write down their goals for other areas on their lives.
I hope this video encourages you to think about the goals you have…think beyond retirement, college, and other traditional financial planning goals.
- Write your goals down.
- Write the steps you are willing and going to take to reach your goals.
- Set a date (short or long term) for accomplishing your goals.
- If you’re open to it, share your goals with someone–a little accountability never hurt anyone.
I’ll be sure to have Roman and Leo back on in the summer to give an update on their goals for this school year.
