2019 YouTube Round-Up

I’ve made it very clear that video is my favorite medium for content–it’s so valuable; it allows people to see AND hear you to begin building a connection, video can be turned into a podcast, written blog, Alexa Flash Briefings, and short video clips–all out of one piece of content. Plus, it’s usually a lot of fun to create.

2019 was a busy year of recording videos–sometimes solo and sometimes with my friends.  If I could have it my way, I’d ALWAYS be recording with my friends! In the spirit of year-end blog posts, I thought I’d share some of my favorite videos from the year.

In no particular order:

Talkin’ Shop at Inside ETF’s With Tyrone Ross

I should have just zoomed in on the gentleman to the left and cut myself out—this video is one of my favorites because of the passion Tyrone exudes as he shares some of his story. The conversations about diversity, inclusion, representation, and getting proximate will only pick up in 2020, and I will continue to add or bring people who can add to the conversation. My hope is that 2020 is not only the year of continuing the conversation but also the year of ACTION.

Range Rover Or Ford Explorer With Roman & Leo

If I had to rank the videos in order, this would be #1…hands down, but that’s not fair because my guests in this video are Roman and Leo; if you’re new to the blog, these are my two oldest sons and the ‘R’ and ‘L’ in RLS Wealth Management. I could have picked a couple of other videos with the boys, but this one was the most fun to record.

In this video, the boys and I have a talk about purchasing a Range Rover (Roman’s favorite car) or a Ford Explorer–this example allowed us to discuss the opportunity costs of purchasing an expensive car, how cars are depreciating assets, and just begin to instill the value of money in the boys. It’s always fun to see what they will say–we only do a little preparation for our videos because I want them to be authentic and to be able to use them a true educational opportunity–for the boys and viewers.

Unfortunately, we did not get the video series with the boys up and running, but it’s high on the list of priorities for 2020.

Talkin’ Shop in NYC With Samuel Deane

I got to meet up with Samuel during my November trip to NYC and I always enjoy spending time, whether it be our monthly Zoom meetings or in person, with him. This episode is one of the first where I upped my editing skills–I’m close to outsourcing–but that wasn’t why I picked it. Many advisors, myself included, create content as a way to educate the public and let people know that real financial advisors do exist and while we may not be the perfect fit for everyone, there is a perfect fit out there.

I hope the woman whom’s tweet Samuel references saw this and was able to find a financial advisor that would help her create a plan for HER life.

Talkin’ Shop at IMN Global Indexing With Dasarte Yarnway

Fewer financial advisors are on a rocket ship toward success like Dasarte. I have the privilege of monthly calls with him and I chose this video because after a year of calls and multiple podcasts, we met in person for the first time shortly before recording this video. It was a lot of fun to get to talk with Dasarte and get him on camera, for what I think was his first video appearance–I’m constantly after him to do more.

We also got to promote his latest book, Pay Me In Equity.

Talkin’ Shop at Wealth/Stack with Genti Cici

As you’ll hear in the video,  I originally met Genti at the Inside ETFs Canada conference earlier in the summer and immediately knew he was a great advisor and even better person. Shortly after we recorded this video, Genti joined me on All About Your Benjamins The Podcast to continue this conversation. Genti has a tremendous goal and I have no doubt he will make the impact he is hoping to make with those who need financial planning the most but struggle to find it.

Meeting Of The Minds At IMN Global Indexing

The first of it’s kind–a room full of the future leaders of our profession talking about some important topics. As I look at the still shot of the YouTube image, I’m in awe at the individuals in my hotel to record this video. This is actually “Episode 1”–you can find the other two episodes on the YouTube channel here and here.

The future of our profession and your financial planning is in good hands!!

Meeting Of The Minds At Wealth/Stack

Round two of Meeting Of The Minds; another room full of talented advisors shaping the future of our profession. I am so lucky to call these advisors my friends, along with those in the first Meeting Of The Minds, and that I get to surround myself with such high-quality PEOPLE, not just advisors.

Again, the future of our profession and your financial planning is in good hands!

Talkin’ A Little Smack About Wealth/Stack

Ok, this one was just fun. Leading up to the Wealth/Stack conference I confidently predicted my panel would be the best panel–I’m pretty sure we delivered on my promise!!

I hope you enjoyed those videos as much as I did–I rarely watch my videos after I edit them, but I really enjoyed revisiting 2019 through these clips and memories. There’s a lot more where these came from, so head on over to YouTube, subscribe, and be sure to like the videos that you enjoy!

I can’t wait to do it even better in 2020!
