Talkin’ Shop: Kevin From Fervent Finance and DIY’ing

You might recognize Kevin from the podcast he and I host, Reversion To The Mean, but what you might not know is Kevin is not a financial advisor, or even in the business. I met him a couple of years ago at the XY Planning Network Annual Conference, he was my first guest on All About Your Benjamins The Podcast, and now we host RTTM together.

This week he took a day off work to drive down to Fishers, Indiana to record an episode of RTTM in person, and I couldn’t let him leave without recording an episode of Talkin’ Shop. While I believe most people benefit from working with a financial advisor, I won’t deny there are some individuals capable of managing their own financial plan, and Kevin is one of those people. Now, it helps that he is studying for the CFP® designation to build upon his current knowledge, but he already has a strong grasp on his planning.

In this episode, I asked Kevin to talk about being a DIY’er, how and why he decided to do it himself, and what resources he finds helpful. As you’ll see, we recorded at my CrossFit gym, which is becoming a thing now—which I really like.

If you’re an advisor and will be passing through the Indianapolis area, hit me up on Twitter and I’d love to have you swing by for another episode of Talkin’ Shop…you might want to be prepared to grab a workout as well!
