I’ve had some great help in the office this summer; on multiple occasions, I’ve had Roman and Leo join me in the office to see what I do each day, see what it is like to work with clients, and help me create some content to share. I hope this is only the beginning of their journey sharing what they learn about finance–I’m trying to get them to do videos geared toward other children, so stay tuned for more from them.
In Roman’s episode of Talkin’ Shop, we discuss what he wants to be when he gets older–we eventually get to a financial advisor, which makes me happy, but ultimately, I’ll be happy no matter what he ends up doing. From there we talk about what he thinks a financial advisor does and why it’s important for people to work with a financial advisor.
In Leo’s episode of Talkin’ Shop, we discuss what he wants to be when he gets older, owning a construction company, and his current business idea. We also talk about the importance of saving–through the lens of a six-and-a-half-year-old.
I’d like to think I have the boys off to a good start, and I know my wife and I will continue to talk to them about these important principles, encourage them to learn on their own, and put them in positions to experience important lessons firsthand. I hope Roman and Leo will be willing to share what they learn–good and bad–so other kids can be exposed early on.
